Committees
Interested in taking your membership to the next level? Get involved with a chapter committee! It's a great opportunity to get to know your industry peers, advance your personal development and contribute your expertise for the betterment of the chapter. Communications Committee This committee is responsible for: preparation of the annual mailing each August, monthly event flyers, materials for distribution at monthly meetings (this includes graphic design, printing production, mailing); update of this website; preparation of monthly e-mails; preparation of meeting sponsor boards; preparation of monthly program handouts; preparation of quarterly newsletter; and preparation of materials for other committees, as needed. Director Membership Committee This committee is responsible for: maintaining the current membership roster, as well as cultivating new members; identify/track prospective members; follow-up with prospective member inquiries; send welcome packages to new members; help introduce new members at monthly meetings; and sponsor at least one membership drive to recruit new members each year. Golf Committee Our annual golf outing has become one of our most anticipated events of the year! Take part in this fun and energized group in planning all the details...everything from celebrity hosts and golfers, to venue and schedule, to awards and raffle prizes, to coordination with our adopted charity, The Sarah Grace Foundation for Children with Cancer. Canstruction Steering Committee The Canstruction Steering Committee is responsible for planning the Annual CANstruction Competition that puts design team against engineer against contractor to build visually amazing structures created from canned foods. Committee responsibilities include graphic design, sponsorship solicitation, team communication, juror invitation and gala planning to successfully complete one of Long Island Cares' most important food drives.
